As time goes by, our open-bowl network set-top box may run slower and slower, even with problems such as caton, black screen, unresponsiveness, etc., which can no longer satisfy our daily use. What should I do? Only firmware upgrades. The following author will share the general firmware upgrade method of KaiBo network set-top box.
Online upgrade method:
After you turn on the PowerBoard, after connecting to the network, the lower left corner of the screen will prompt you to press the menu key to upgrade. After you press the key, it will automatically download the upgrade and restart (no firmware upgrade required). Tips: Never power off during the upgrade process. If power failure occurs midway, the upgrade fails. It is recommended that you press the remote power button immediately after rebooting until the system upgrade menu appears. Then, you can upgrade the system again through the network.
Local upgrade method:
The first step: download the firmware of the corresponding model, and decompress it, get a file of install.img, and put it in the root directory of the U disk;
Step 2: Find the "reset" hole (usually located on the rear panel of the machine) on the open network STB;
Step 3: Insert the USB flash drive that has copied the firmware upgrade file install.img into the USB interface of the player in case of shutdown or power off.
The fourth step: use a hard object to withstand the reset hole, start the power of the Bor box, after power on, press and hold the reset button for about 5 seconds to let go, then you can watch the TV screen, wait for the upgrade to complete, about 2 Complete the upgrade in minutes;
Note: In the unsuccessful state of using this method, it is recommended to repeat this operation and try again. In addition, I would also like to remind that because Kaibol is not providing an Android firmware upgrade package, friends who want to upgrade the Bor box can download the firmware package from other network STB forums and then perform a local upgrade.
