The longest in the world China's First Aerial Bicycle Path: 7.6km
January 26, Xiamen Yunding Road bike rapid demonstration section of the pilot operation, this full-length aerial bicycle lane length of 7.6 km. It is reported that this is the country’s first and longest aerial bicycle trail in the world.
It is understood that the aerial bicycle lane is an independent riding system. It is one-way, one-way, two-lane, with a net width of 2.5 meters and a total width of 2.8 meters. The combined section is a two-way, four-lane road with a net width of 4.5 meters and a total width of 4.8 meters. The design peak flow rate is one-way 2023 vehicles/hour (flow control is achieved when 80% is reached), and the design speed is 25km/h.
In addition, a total of 7 platforms have been built across the line, 355 public bicycle parking spaces and 253 social bicycle parking spaces have been set up. Each platform is equipped with a bicycle dispatch lift.
There are 11 entrances and exits on the whole line, linking with Bus Rapid Transit sites, pedestrian bridges, and buildings, and connecting with 11 regular public transportation stations.
The air cycle lanes are open daily from 6:30 am to 22:30 pm, and are only used by public and social bikes. Motor vehicles, electric vehicles and pedestrians are prohibited.
The bicycle lane adopts multi-sensor monitoring technology, visible light and infrared image acquisition and processing, etc. to achieve rapid through-type detection and identification of bicycles, electric vehicles and motorcycles, and specifically designed bicycle pass gates and recognition integrated machines. Equipment, etc., can ensure that bicycles can quickly pass through dedicated lanes.
