Taiwan's light-emitting diode (LED) manufacturer stocks rose, driven by better-than-expected January revenue.
Yuanda Securities analyst Vivian Chen said that the LED industry's market prospects look very solid, because after the Chinese mainland mobile phone manufacturers cleaned up their inventory, orders resumed growth, and LED manufacturers' first-quarter revenue is expected to decline compared with the fourth quarter. 5%-10%, the decline is less than the original estimate of 10%-15%. Yiguang Electronics (2393.TW) rose 5.1% to NT$101.0, and its revenue in January increased by 49.66% to NT$948 million. Jingyuan Optoelectronics (2448.TW) rose 6.9% to NT$83.90, and its revenue in January increased by 60.1% to NT$865 million.
