Energy saving is still the key word of 09 China lighting industry

Author: Rowena, hello. 2008 was an unsettled year for the Chinese lighting industry, and many major events took place. What do you think is the key word that best reflects the development of China's lighting industry last year?

Rowena: I think the core keyword of China's lighting industry in 2008 is “energy saving”. Energy-efficient lighting has been included in the overall national energy conservation and emission reduction plan. At the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly held a national high-efficiency lighting product promotion work conference to deploy the first batch of 50 million high-efficiency energy-saving lighting products that received financial subsidies. This marked the official launch of China's efficient lighting promotion project.

Author: As a successful bidder for the national high-efficiency lighting project, Philips Lighting should have a good harvest?

Rowena: Yes, Philips 8W, 11W, 15W, 18W general lighting self-ballasted fluorescent lamps, 18W, 36W three-color double-ended straight tube fluorescent lamps, with excellent performance and performance, won the bid. Now, Philips has completed millions of product promotion programs in Henan, Jilin, Hubei, Jiangsu, Shaanxi, Liaoning and other provinces.

Author: So it seems that Philips has performed well in the national efficient lighting promotion. Which experience do you think is worth learning from insiders?

Rowena: In line with the national policy of promoting energy-efficient lighting, taking advantage of the trend and taking the opportunity to emerge is an important reason for Philips Lighting to achieve excellent market results in 2008. This year, Philips' full-line products have developed satisfactorily, and the development of energy-saving lighting products is particularly rapid.

Author: In the current economic situation, what do you think is the development direction of the lighting industry in 2009?

Rowena: Energy conservation is still the direction of industry development. In 2008, China used financial subsidies for the first time to support ordinary consumers to purchase energy-efficient lighting products. The first batch of high-efficiency lighting products promoted nationwide was 50 million. Philips is a partner of this project. The National Development and Reform Commission also announced the official launch of China's "China's phasing out incandescent lamps, speeding up the promotion of energy-saving lamps action plan" preparation work. This means that with the elimination of incandescent lamps, energy-saving lamps will accelerate the comprehensive promotion in China. At the just-concluded national high-efficiency lighting product promotion seminar, the relevant person from the Ministry of Finance said that the first promotion had achieved a complete success, eventually reaching more than 60 million. In 2009, we will further increase the promotion of high-efficiency lighting products. We believe that this is a good opportunity to improve the energy-saving application level of the Chinese lighting market and promote industrial development.
