Philips SSl Fellow: The main challenge of LED lighting
Philips SSL FEL low (formerly CTO) and also the inventor of Huangguang LED, George Craford, shared with attendees at the China International Market Trend Summit held by LEDinside in Guangzhou on the status quo and challenges of LED lighting.
Craford said that the replacement of traditional light sources by LED lighting is an unchangeable historical process. At present, traditional light sources still account for the main market of lighting. Philips expects LED lighting to occupy 80% of the market share by 2020.
However, LED lighting still has many problems. The main challenges are LED lighting quality, performance, reliability and simplicity. The main factors affecting the quality of LED lighting include the consistency between the various components of the LED product, the color/lighting angle/uniformity of the light source, and the color rendering of the product. The criteria for judging the quality of lighting are different in different situations. When the light source is close to the surface of the object, light color is the primary consideration. The color of the light is determined before the light output, because the beam is near A beam interception may occur when the distance is projected on a vertical surface, so the light color must be presented accurately or exaggeratedly. When the light source is away from the surface of the object, the luminous flux and low energy consumption are the primary considerations.
