Amazon officially enters the TV market to release online video set-top boxes this fall
Beijing time, April 25, according to foreign media reports, e-commerce giant Amazon plans to release a set-top box product that can transmit online video to consumers' homes this fall, which will mark Amazon's official entry into the TV market.
According to people familiar with the matter, when connected to a TV, this set-top box allows consumers to access video content provided by Amazon, including video from its video-on-demand store and real-time video services. It is reported that the product is developed by the Lab126 department of Amazon, and it is Malachy Moynihan who is in charge of the product development project. Morihan previously served as vice president of new product at Cisco, and also worked for a while at Apple.
