Recently, the Taichung Park in the processing and exporting area will promote the replacement of traditional mercury street lamps along the administrative building and the area around the South Ring Road into high-efficiency and low-energy LED street lamps. It is expected to save NT$60,000 in electricity bills per year and reduce CO2 emissions by 20 metric tons.
At present, this promotion work has completed the entrusted design bidding operation. It is expected that the contract construction will be carried out in June 2010 and will be completed and used in September to provide manufacturers with high-quality basic public facilities.
In the future, Taichung plans to fully promote all road lighting equipment in the district, and specifically implement the concept of environmental protection, energy conservation and earth-loving ecological parks in Taichung Processing Zone.
