Mobile networks are contributing to the rapid expansion of M2M connections

Machine-to-machine communication (M2M) has a long history, but for decades, it is the rapid development of communication networks, especially wireless networks, that has driven the rapid expansion of M2M communication. Analysts predict that this trend will continue.

According to the latest market analysis report of the ABI Research Center, there will be 297 million M2M communication connections by 2015, of which 110 million are in Europe. The Yankee Group predicts that by 2011 there will be 81.8 million connections based on cellular communications networks, and this number will increase to 217.5 million in 2015. No matter which number is more precise, it is obvious that the mobile network has contributed to the rapid expansion of M2M connections.

The main business driver for the rapid popularity of M2M communication is to minimize human-computer interaction, thereby reducing costs and improving business efficiency. If the components in the electronic system are "intelligent", they can be programmed to take action based on data from other components in the system. For example, suppose a car equipped with asset tracking technology starts to move when it should remain stationary (maybe parked overnight), then the computer connected to it will automatically alarm no matter where it is in the world , To remind the nearby police to pay attention.

M2M application: development

Perhaps the earliest M2M application is remote monitoring. Radio transmitters are usually located on the top of inaccessible hills. The monitoring and control of these devices do not require manual intervention, saving a lot of costs. In the next few years, not only will such control and monitoring applications continue to develop, but M2M will also be rapidly applied to automotive remote communications, consumer electronics, fleet management, smart metering and other fields.

South Korean automaker Hyundai Motors launched the BlueLink remote communication system this year to provide drivers with seamless connections between offices, homes, smartphones and cars. This is like a power-enhanced GPS system with more than 30 functions, one of which allows the owner of the vehicle to lend it, such as lending the car to their young children, not only can you see where the car is driving, Can know the driving route, and even the speed of the car at all times.

M2M's consumer-level applications are very wide ranging from the well-known electronic point-of-sale system (EPOS) to the relatively emerging medical and health field. As the population gradually ages, the cost of medical care continues to rise, and its growth rate in developed countries has even exceeded that of GDP. Suppose that the patient's health data, such as blood pressure, can be collected without going to the local hospital, so the cost savings will be considerable. It was pointed out that the quality and quantity of data collected may also contribute to more accurate diagnosis and more effective treatment.

Among all types of transportation, remote asset tracking is another mature application of M2M technology. Logistics companies use this technology to track goods. Another reason for using this technology is to ensure asset safety and prevent theft. Some companies use this technology to locate maintenance engineers to improve customer service. With the increase in fuel prices, most transportation companies have also begun to adopt this technology to help reduce fuel consumption, thereby reducing operating costs.

Smart metering will be one of the fastest growing areas of M2M communication in the next decade. Last year, major mobile communication operators reached agreements with public utilities. Gas, water and power companies can significantly reduce metering costs by intelligently detecting historical or real-time hydropower coal usage. Of course, for power companies, there is already a wired connection; the problem is only, or not just to find a reliable way to transfer data through power cables. Some predictions indicate that by 2015, there may be more than 200 million smart meters, which makes some analysts' previous prediction data seem quite conservative.

About Capacity:

16GB=approximately 14GB-15GB

32GB=approximately 28GB-30GB

64GB=approximately 58GB-60GB

128GB=approximately 115GB-119GB

256GB=approximately 230GB-238GB

FLASH Memory vendors:1MB = 1000KB,1G = 1000MB
Operating system using binary arithmetic:1MB = 1024KB,1GB = 1024MB;
so there are some differences between display capacity and nominal capacity of flash memory product

Warm Tips:

How to verify the Capacity and Speed of the memory card?

1). Please use quality USB 3.0 card reader to verify all memory card by H2testw on PC. Real memory card should pass H2testw with no error.

2). Please don't use cheap card reader to test Micro SD memory card, speed of Micro SD memory card will be reduced by low quality card reader.

3). Micro SD memory card speed is greatly affected by card reader and the capacity you choose , USB port ect. Low quality device will 100% slow down card speed,1MB=1000KB.
