Lenovo Mirage VR Headset will be unveiled: Lenovo demonstrated their first virtual reality head-up at CES 2017, and a prototype device based on the Windows Holographic platform. At the show in January this year, Lenovo stated that their VR headline will be available this year, but no official name was announced at that time. However, based on the recent brand registration, this product may be referred to as "Lenovo Mirage". It is understood that the application was filed earlier this month and can now be found in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's database.
Lenovo’s head is based on Microsoft’s Windows Holographic Platform and supports notebooks or PCs equipped with Windows 10, which Microsoft launched last year for virtual reality and augmented reality.
The VR/AVR headline market is currently dominated by htc vive, Oculus Rift and Hololens, but the latest Lenovo heads will be able to provide higher resolution. The Lenovo Mirage VR has two OLED displays with a resolution of 1440×1440.
In addition to being a VR heads-up, the Lenovo Mirage is also equipped with two front stereo cameras that enable the device to support mixed reality applications. It is not yet clear what the specific price is, but Lenovo said the product is closer to $300 instead of $400.
A new rule from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) threatens to upend the American hemp industry, and could even result in criminal prosecutions for manufacturers of CBD and delta-8 THC products.
The DEA says the [interim final rule," issued Aug. 20, is simply a matter of adjusting its own regulations to account for changes to the Controlled Substances Act that were mandated by the 2018 Farm Bill (or Agricultural Improvement Act) that legalized hemp and CBD production. The new rule [merely conforms DEA`s regulations to the statutory amendments to the CSA that have already taken effect," says the agency. The new rule doesn`t break any ground, according to the DEA.
But many experts on cannabis and hemp law say the DEA rule creates a potential pathway the law enforcement agency could use to prosecute hemp processors and producers of CBD (cannabidiol) and delta-8 THC (or Δ8THC) products. There are two issues: partially processed CBD, and [synthetically derived" delta-8 THC.
