On October 11, 2016, the first productized project of “Baidu Medical Brain” was released as a “dialogue robot”. According to Baidu introduction:

"Baidu Medical Brain" is an artificially intelligent product design through the collection and analysis of massive medical data and professional literature. It simulates the doctor's consultation process and communicates with users in multiple rounds. Based on the user's symptoms, it may raise questions and verify repeatedly. Give final recommendations. During the process, the patient's symptom descriptions can be collected, summarized, classified, and organized to remind the doctors of more possibilities and to assist the primary doctors to complete the consultation.

Fan Wei, director of the Big Data Lab at Baidu Research Institute responsible for technology development, introduced the three challenges faced by the technology: the definition of user intent, the user's description of colloquialism and diversity, and the limited amount of marked data. . In terms of "definition of user intentions," Baidu said that user intentions are divided into five categories: diseases, symptoms, drugs, examinations, and surgery.
