Aruba Networks Introduces AirMesh Outdoor Wireless Solution

Recently, Aruba Networks introduced the AirMesh outdoor wireless solution to provide an outdoor mesh network with high scalability and high performance. All AirMesh product solutions have built-in 3-layer routing capabilities, and the new flagship product MSR4000 has a quad-band architecture.

Rohit Mehra, Director of Enterprise Communications Infrastructure at IDC, a market research organization, said: "The Layer 3 routing function can greatly enhance scalability, and it will become more and more important for large-scale deployment of Mesh networks such as urban and large industrial areas. The architecture eliminates wired or overlapping backhaul traffic systems, minimizes expensive wiring costs, and simplifies installation and management."

Designed for the needs of complex and diverse outdoor network applications, the Aruba Airmesh solution is suitable for organizations such as oil and gas, mining, utilities management and transportation facilities to transmit data, voice and HD video. Regional government applications include urban wireless networks and public safety applications such as video surveillance, dynamic data transmission and disaster recovery. This solution features intelligent multi-frequency design, including dual-band and quad-band 802.11n MIMO platforms, providing massive capacity, effectively eliminating interference, and maintaining frequency data transmission through network hopping.

Employees and security guards at Yokohama Port in Japan use the iPhone and iPad devices to receive and transmit data from different devices including network cameras, weather sensors, Z-Wave and other wireless devices through the Aruba AirMesh network. United CommunicaTIon Services, Inc. (Unicom), which specializes in wireless and dynamic technologies, is the system provider for this project.

Nobuharu Suzuki, General Manager of Unicom's Corporate and Engineering Department, said: "Outdoor network connections are often complicated due to cost and fiber connection problems. Most wireless mesh networks today cannot be simple because of the traditional 2-layer mesh network switching architecture. Expanding to a wider range of requirements, but also lacking multi-service performance. With its 3-layer routing architecture and quad-band backhaul capability, Aruba AirMesh network meets our needs for outdoor networks regardless of the number of network hopping or application types. ."

The Aruba Airmesh product line features Aruba MeshOSTM with AdapTIve Wireless RouTIngTM (AWRTM) capability, which provides 3-layer network intelligence with spectrum recognition to optimize network traffic, reduce latency and ensure resiliency. AcTIve Video TransportTM (AVTTM) optimizes and prioritizes video traffic, reduces packet loss and jitter, and dramatically improves video quality. AVT can also recognize 30 video frames per second, which is a key function for multi-frequency hopping to transmit high-definition video. Aruba's MobileMatrixTM technology provides a stable roaming service by switching connections between mesh routers within 50 milliseconds (milliseconds).

Seattle Police Department Interpol Monty Moss said: "We can receive high-definition quality video through the reliable Aruba wireless mesh network without the need to purchase expensive cable infrastructure to help us maintain social security. Our system is also unparalleled. Flexibility, multiple devices, including cameras, wireless mesh routers and antennas, can be flexibly moved and set up to protect public safety anywhere in the city."

The Aruba AirMesh family includes enhanced single-band, dual-band and quad-band platforms that provide near-fiber, up to 300Mbps per RF. Each radio that can be set by the software can be used as a mesh backhaul connection or connection point (Access Point), using multiple RF actions to provide optimal performance and network frequency hopping to maintain data transmission, while long-range directional antennas are more capable. Help with data transmission as far as 10 kilometers.

The Aruba AirMesh range includes the following products:

The new MSR4000 – quad-band outdoor 802.11n mesh router with software settings supporting 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz or 4.9 GHz

New MST200 – Single Frequency Outdoor 802.11n mesh router with integrated antenna for long distance connections

MSR2000 – Dual-band outdoor 802.11n mesh router with software settings capable of supporting 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz or 4.9 GHz

MSR1200 – Dual Frequency Indoor 802.11n Mesh Router

MeshConfig – monitor and manage multiple mesh networks

Aruba Wireless Mesh Professional (AWMP) Certification Program

IT professionals with Aruba Wireless Mesh Professional (AWMP) will be able to deploy and manage Aruba AirMesh outdoor wireless mesh networks. This fee-based certification exam is handled by the Pearson VUE Test Center commissioned by Aruba Networks. Participants in the certification program must complete the Aruba Wireless Mesh Networking (AWMN) course, which is valid for three years and must be certified by the latest version of the AWMP tester upon expiration.

Aruba Outdoor Spectrum Planning Tool

The new Aruba 3D Outdoor Coverage Planning Tool provides an efficient planning approach for customers and business partners to help Aruba AirMesh network deployment and display in 3D, providing detailed connectivity signal strength predictions and displays Upstream and downstream transmission rate and channel information. The planning tool clearly displays multiple network data in a color chart, including user coverage, user data transfer, elevation profile, and other deployment attributes.

Zhao Fuyong, vice president of Aruba's outdoor Mesh technology, said: "The AirMesh 802.11n multi-service outdoor network solution helps ensure reliable coverage and high-quality video, voice and data applications, no matter where you are, even in extremely harsh environments. Experience. This not only reduces the cost of fiber optic wiring, but also provides coverage for users anytime, anywhere, and better meets their changing needs in the future."
