50W controller IC capable of driving up to 14 1A white LEDs
Introduction: Linear Technology Corp. has introduced the LED controller ICs "LT3755" and "LT3755-1" which can supply 50W of power. It can drive up to 14 1A white LEDs. Mainly for automotive, industrial and architectural lighting. The input voltage range is +4.5 to 40V. The output current can be detected by the high voltage side of the LED column. The boost, buck, and buck-boost of the input voltage can be used. The output voltage is +2.9 to 60V. The switching frequency can be set from 100k to 1MHz. The efficiency in boost mode exceeds 94%. Dimming uses the PWM signal. The dimming ratio is up to 3000:1. A 10:1 analog dimming is possible using the CTRL pin. The LT3755 is equipped with an open LED pin, while the LT3755-1 is equipped with a frequency synchronization pin.
The package is a 16mm QFN with a 3mm square. The "I" rating and the "E" rating are available depending on the temperature assurance method. The I grade is based on the test results and provides an action guarantee for the working connection temperature in the range of -40 to +125 °C. The E rating is guaranteed by the temperature range at design time. Production is currently in volume production.
