(1) DC power supply should be used

In order to reduce the cost of products, some manufacturers use the "resistance, buck" method to supply power to LED products, which will directly affect the life of LED products. Using a dedicated switching power supply (preferably a constant current source) to power LED products will not affect the product's service life, but the product cost is relatively high.

(2) Anti-static measures must be taken

Certain anti-static measures must be taken during the processing of LED products, such as: the workbench should be grounded, workers should wear anti-static clothing, with anti-static rings, and anti-static gloves, etc. If necessary, anti-static ions can be installed The fan also needs to ensure that the humidity of the workshop is about 65% to prevent the air from being too dry to generate static electricity, especially the green LED is relatively easy to be damaged by static electricity. In addition, LEDs of different quality grades have different antistatic capabilities, and LEDs of higher quality grades have stronger antistatic capabilities. There may be many friends who do n’t know much about static electricity. Here I will introduce the knowledge of static electricity in detail: The essence of static electricity is the existence of residual charge. Electric charge is all physical quantity related to the essential aspect of electrostatic phenomenon, English is called ESD.

The quantities related to electric potential, electric field, electric current, etc. are all physical quantities due to the existence or movement of electric charges. Many static electricity problems are caused by people's lack of ESD awareness. Even now, many people suspect that ESD will cause damage to electronic products. This is because most ESD damage occurs below human perception, because the human body's perception voltage of electrostatic discharge is about 3KV, and many electronic components will be damaged at hundreds of volts or even tens of volts, usually after electronic devices are damaged by ESD There is no obvious boundary. After installing the component on the PCB and then testing, there are many problems and the analysis is quite difficult. Especially for potential damage, it is difficult to measure a significant change in its performance even with precision instruments, so many electronic engineers and designers suspect ESD. In recent years, experiments have confirmed that this potential damage will be affected by electronic products after a certain period of time. Reliability is significantly reduced.

(3) LED temperature

It should be noted that the increase in temperature will reduce the internal resistance of the LED. When the external ambient temperature increases, the internal resistance of the LED light source will decrease. If the power supply is used with a regulated power supply, the LED operating current will increase. When the rated operating current is exceeded , Will affect the service life of LED products, serious will cause the LED light source to "burn out", so it is best to use a constant current source to ensure that the LED operating current is not affected by external temperature. LED temperature is also the most important factor affecting LED life. Please draw attention.

(4) Sealing of LED products

No matter what kind of LED products, as long as they are used outdoors, they are faced with waterproof and moisture-proof sealing problems. If they are not handled properly, they will directly affect the service life of the LED products. At present, there are a few manufacturers with high product quality requirements that use the traditional epoxy resin "pouring" method to seal LED products. This method is more troublesome to operate and is not very suitable for larger LED products. Cause the weight of the product to increase.

(5) The current of the LED cannot exceed the IF current of the LED

Over-current work will quickly reduce the LED life. If it exceeds it, it will burn the LED immediately.

(6) Pay attention to LED corner

LEDs should not be too close to the colloid when bending or folding, and should be kept at a distance of more than 2mm from the colloid, otherwise the bracket inside the LED colloid will be separated from the gold wire, the number of folding at the same corner cannot exceed three times, and the corner is bent 90 °, and return to the original position once.

(7) Welding temperature

The soldering temperature is about 260 ℃, the time is controlled within 5S, the soldering point is more than 2.5mm from the bottom of the colloid, the electric soldering iron must be grounded, and it is absolutely not allowed to weld the LED with electricity.
