OSRAM plans to lay off 1/10 of its work in Germany before 2014

According to foreign media reports, Germany's Siemens LED company OSRAM plans to cut about 850 employees in Germany by 2014, 200 of which may be transferred to Siemens, Osram spokesman is not willing to explain whether it will be layoffs outside Germany.

Osram CEO Wolfgang Dehen said that traditional lighting demand is decreasing due to the rise of LEDs, and the company will actively promote structural reforms. It is understood that the current number of employees in Osram is about 41,000, and about 1/4 in Germany.

Osram announced in September 2011 that the listing plan was postponed. The Siemens Finance Minister said that the OSRAM IPO plan will still be implemented, but at this stage it is not a matter of urgency, and the stock market's ups and downs are the reason why Osram's stock is listed.
