LG and QD Vision develop quantum dot LED screen
According to reports, LG and US QD Vision recently announced that they will jointly develop an active matrix display based on quantum dot LED (QLED) nanotechnology.
Compared to the current screen, the new display reduces power consumption while increasing brightness and vividness. QD Vision will provide quantum dot technology and LG will be responsible for the production of actual products.
Due to the simplified production process, QLED screens can further reduce the manufacturer's production costs, and the quantum dots can achieve the same stability and reliability as inorganic semiconductor materials.
QD Vision said that under the same picture quality, QLED's energy saving performance is expected to double that of OLED screen, and at the same time increase the luminous rate by 30-40%.
