LED chip makers and package makers both grew in the first quarter of 2010
In the first quarter of 2010, LED packaging manufacturers Everlight Electronics, Unity Opto Technology and Ledtech Electronics, and LED chip maker FOREPI: Formosa Epitaxy announced the battalion Revenue growth.
In the first quarter of 2010, Everlight Electronics' total revenue reached NT$3.58 billion (US$113.9 million), net profit reached NT$541 million, and earnings per share were NT$1.25.
Market observers expect that in April, Yiguang Electronics' revenue will reach NT$1.5 billion, and in the case of good order visibility, 2010 earnings per share will reach NT$5. In March, the revenue of Everlight Electronics reached NT$1.4 billion.

The driving force for growth is mainly due to the increase in revenue share of high-end products. Yanyuan Optoelectronics also said that the company's TV backlight business revenue increased, exceeding 60% of its total revenue.
In the second quarter of 2010, it is expected that the revenue of Haoyuan Optoelectronics will increase by 50% compared with the previous quarter. The increase in the revenue share of LED lighting products will lead to the continuous improvement of its gross profit margin.
