Japan has modified the seat cushion that can be automatically returned according to the automatic parking technology.
Nissan recently invented a new type of slippers that can be returned to the entrance of the ryokan and placed neatly by pressing the button. This type of slipper relies on its own ProPILOT automatic parking technology.
Located in Hakone, a resort town about 50 miles southwest of Tokyo, ProPILOT Park is known for its Mount Fuji scenery. At first glance, it looks like a traditional Japanese hotel, slippers are neatly arranged in the foyer, and tatami rooms have low tables and cushions.
However, each slipper is equipped with two tiny wheels, motors and sensors, and uses Nissan's ProPILOT automatic parking technology to move across the wooden lobby floor.
The car giant also applied the system to the hotel's tables and floor cushions, so guests could see the shoes and some furniture moving autonomously on the floor.
Nissan Motor said that their goal is to "minimize the workload of employees to greet the guests", but it seems that it mainly aims to drive the sale of the semi-automatic Nissan Leaf of the 2018 version released at the end of last year.
It is the first Nissan car to use ProPILOT's driving assistance technology. Currently, it is mainly used to keep the car in the lane, and can use the adaptive cruise control system to keep the car at a safe distance from the vehicle in front.
