The packaging and testing companies were greatly reduced due to the sluggish international market and earthquakes in Japan. The sales revenue of the industry experienced a negative growth of 2.8%, and the sales amount was 61.656 billion yuan.

According to customs statistics, the import value of ICs in 2011 was US$170.2 billion, an increase of 8.4% year-on-year; the export value was US$32.57 billion, an increase of 11.4% year-on-year.
