Apple won sapphire-related patents or confirmed that iPhone 6 will use sapphire screen

It is reported that Apple obtained a key patent, called "sapphire glass anti-oil coating" technology, involving sapphire-related applications, the disclosure of the patent further confirms that the iPhone 6 released in September will use a sapphire screen.

This patent is used to describe how oleophobic or oil repellent coatings are applied to sapphire glass panels, particularly in the field of cell phones and flat panels.

The patent shows that if the anti-oil coating is to be used on sapphire glass, it is necessary to add a transition layer between the substrate and the anti-fouling coating. The material of the transition layer can be alumina, silica or a mixture of the two materials. In short, under the sapphire is the transition layer, and below the transition layer is the surface layer, and Apple believes that this bonding process is the perfect solution.

The anti-fouling coating was first used on the iPhone 3GS, while the iPhone 5S, 5C, iPad Air and other devices used the same coating. Since the coating technology for gorilla glass cannot be used on sapphire materials, this is also the case. Why is Apple going to solve it again?
